On the 4th of September 2007 Royal Manchester Children's Hospital saved my life. I had emergency surgery to remove a brain tumour, the size of a tennis ball, from my head! And for that, I will forever be grateful! This year, to mark the 10th anniversary I am taking on the challenge of raising £10,000 over the next 10 months by completing 28 challenges, one for every day I spent receiving amazing care!
The challenge is #DuncansDecade
The catch is, I want YOU to set the challenges! So let me know what you want me to do? Ideas so far have included; busking on Market Street, waxing my legs (that one will hurt!), a Man Vs Food challenge, do a 24 hour Live Stream and much more! SO let your creative juices run wild. The crazier the better!
So far I have ran the Wilmslow Half Marathon, the Manchetser 10K, the Stockport 10K and abseiled 240ft of a building to name a few.
You can submit challenges by commenting on here, on Twitter (@DuncanMcCombe), Facebook, Instagram (Duncan_McC), text me, write me a letter, carrier pigeon, I don't care, just get them in!
Any donations, big or small, are hugely appreciated, as well as support and just sharing what I'm trying to do! This is about bringing together as many people as possible to help raise awareness of RMCH and obviously £10,000.
To put it into context, it is estimated that my care and treatment cost somewhere in he region of £15,000 and £20,000 and I am determined to put back what I took out, and more! So they can continue their life changing work!
Stay tuned over the next 10 months!
