Shocktober Zip Slide · 20 October 2012 ·
As part of our 5th Birthday celebrations in October and to raise money for The Stroke Association, Team Durham Climbing Centre will be taking part in a Zip Slide challenge off the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle!
The event is in aid of The Stroke Association, which supports sufferers of this potentially debilitating medical condition which is currently the third most common cause of death in the UK.
The zip wire is 230m long and will be set up by ZSUK who have been providing safe and successful bridge zips for the last 5 years. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £75 for the charity and to pay a £20 entry fee. The event is open to anyone aged 16 and over. So conquer your fears and sllliiiiide!!!
So if you would like to see Hayley, Andy, and Heather leap off the Tyne Bridge come along on the day and cheer us on! Or better still, join in! Just pick up a form at reception. We hope to see some of our members there to cheer us on!
The Stroke Association is a very worthy cause. All of us know someone, or someone close to them who has been affected by a stroke.
