Liberty - making people is a charity that is very very dear to our hearts which a few of us have joined for over 4 years now supporting financially, with our time and going physically to Nigeria to impact poor communities.

Every year a group of volunteers  from UK/USA/Europe go to rural areas in Nigeria to help provide free medical care, eye operations, reading glasses,  medical operations, Clean water, Business empowerment etc.  Every year is a different experience.

We see different people (adult, children, young and old) with different needs some of them we treat there and  some that require us returning back home to raise funds in order to sponsor the needs of the people..  we can tell you so many stories of people whose lives have been positively impacted by Liberty . Liberty is truly an experience EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!

We would like to tell you the reason why we decided to participate in this event. 

a few years ago whilst on one of our mission trips in Epe, a mother came with her son to the eye clinic stating he was blind and could not see. To put some context to the story the child was 4 years old, I remember asking her if the child was born blind to which she answered 'no'. To cut a long story short due to poverty she was unable to take the child to opticians when he started to complain about blurred vision and tried home remedies to help him keep his sight. After attending our eye clinic we ascertained the boy was short sighted and was losing vision in one of his eyes. The amazing thing is due to our amazing doctor's and eye nurses on site and generous DONOR'S LIKE YOURSELVES we were able to restore his sight through surgery. 

Imagine that child's future would have been like had the mother not persevered  A blind child in a rural area of Africa......We restored his vision and restore his hope.

A bit more about Liberty...

Liberty has 2 primary schools in Sepeteri and  Immini  in Nigeria these school are deep in the rural villages where there no other schools for Children to attend are from the village. Liberty provides these children with FREE education.

 At the moment we  only have primary schools which means once there children complete Primary school education, they cannot further their education. Part of why we are fundraising is for Liberty  to build secondary schools for the children.  Liberty wants to be able to provide them with the opportunities to make a great future for themselves and we believe its through providing education.
