Story

Folks,

On October 12th thirteen brave souls from the Acromas Audit and Tax teams are planning to do something truly epic - cycle the cold, hard and occasionally hilly fifty odd miles (83km) to Oxford from London for a truly noble cause. Ok, it’s not going to be on a penny farthing, but trust me it’ll be tough... as an auditor any kind of travel without chargeable cab receipts is truly terrifying!  The Brave Souls Are:

Ben Gregory, Chris Byrne, James Gay, Susan Vella, Charis Demetriou, Cyrus Khajotia, Mila Denzong Bhutia, Virginie Lalande, Charlie Briggs, Emilio Loizi, Sophie Abashidze, Seb Pasteiner, Adam Westwood and Geeta Kapri

The Berber Education Programme, based in Morocco and supported by the Saga Charitable Trust, was established to help Berber children speak, read and write in Arabic, giving them access to education from which they will otherwise be denied at government schools. Our target is to raise £4,000 towards building and maintaining a learning centre in the small village of Agounsane.

In the spirit of education and learning, therefore, we have chosen to peddle, wheeze and grunt our way to the seat of British learning (sorry Cambridge). And so we are reaching out to you, our big-hearted colleagues, for donations towards this most worthy of causes and quite possibly for the amusing spectacle of us hobbling awkwardly around the office (seven hours in the saddle can do that) over the next week or so. Donations should be send to our just giving site and gift-aided, which I’m sure as accountants you won’t need explaining.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
