The Royal Irish Regiment Benevolent Fund

The fund renders aid, financial or otherwise to members of The Royal Irish Regiment, their widows and/or dependants in times of need.

Story

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has donated so generously over the past two months. To date, we have raised over £4500, which will be divided between the Nuffield trust minibus, which has cost £28169.28 and the Memorial Garden, and children's play area within the Battalion Community Centre, which will cost in the region of £15,000. The good news is with the money that you have donated so far I was able to watch the service fund accountant, write the cheque on Wed 18 Nov 09 to pay for the disabled minibus. Well done and thank you.

In addition to this, the public funding that has been granted for the memorial garden and children's play area has almost been authorised and with that funding and your donations. We hope to have all the work completed with in the community centre by St Patrick's Day.

Thu 19 Nov 09 I formally presented the Commanding Officer with a cheque for £4530.10 that you have raised with your generous donations, which will go a long way to making sure we achieved our aim.

Once again thank you. I would ask you to pass on to your colleagues and friends that we are still fund raising both for 1 R IRISH and the Royal Irish Regiment Benevolent fund, and any think that they can donate will go to an extremely worthy endeavour.

Pictured is CO 1 R IRISH receiving the funds you have raised on behalf of this worthwhile charity.

            Thank you
