Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are participating in the run to raise money for the Oliver Zangwill Centre. This is a unique facility, based in Cambridgeshire, offering rehabilitation for those who are recovering from acquired brain injury.

In September 2012, the son of our friend Mick Stump was involved in a terrible car accident and suffered many injuries including severe head trauma. During the two years since his accident Mick’s son, Josh, has made a sustained recovery from many of his injuries but further recovery from brain injury requires specialist neurological rehabilitation - the Oliver Zangwill Centre (OZC) is the only specialised centre in the UK that provides such care and support.

OZC offers the tailored and specialised programmes that Josh and others like him require. It provides high quality rehabilitation for people with an acquired brain injury and offers a unique holistic and intensive assessment and therapy programme. The aim of the centre is to help people to become independent at home and in the community, to re-establish satisfying relationships with family and friends and to engage in productive activity in home, education or work settings.
