Story
The Event
Easibathe are once again taking on the C2C, from Whitehaven to Tynemouth and this year we are raising money for Children’s Cancer North. Our challenge starts on Friday 16th September and will end on Sunday 18th September, cycling approximately 140 miles, across 3 days.
Olly’s Story
This charity is close to the heart of our business because Olly, aged 6 and the nephew of our owners Denise & Martin was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma early this year. Hodgkin Lymphoma is an aggressive cancer which develops in the lymphatic system. Olly has put up such an amazingly brave fight, has undergone chemotherapy treatment and is doing a great job, of “Kicking Cancer’s ****…….
The Charity
Having seen the bravery and determination of so many children and families navigating this very challenging journey, Olly’s family started fundraising in support of the Children’s Cancer North. To quote Chris Peacock Chairman of NECCR, “Cancer is the number one cause of non-accidental death in children in the UK. Children’s Cancer North strives to raise money to directly fund revolutionary research into the causes and treatment of this terrible disease”.
Children’s Cancer North aims to improve their quality of life through transforming the environment and play experience on the wards, providing access to potentially life saving clinical trials and funding revolutionary research to find more effective treatments.
The Team
We have 8 riders with Martin and Denise as the invaluable team support. Not many of the team are seasoned long distance cyclists so it’s going to be a challenge! We appreciate that life is becoming increasingly difficult for everyone, so any donation large or small is very much appreciated. Please help us to support this amazing charity and give hope to families today and in the future.
