Great East Swim 2016 · 18 June 2016 ·

The Befriending Scheme provides friendship and learning opportunities for adults from vulnerable groups, including those with mental health needs and older people, as well as our existing members with learning disabilities. We also offer various volunteering opportunities with extra support.

Story

On the 18th June I will be taking part in a 10km swim at Alton water in open water continuously and unaided.

The reason i am doing this is because I hope that my efforts to complete this swim will help inspire the public who have been so supportive before of my fundraising efforts to give whatever they can.

The Befriending scheme is a charity that have set up hub centres with weekly meets ups for the group to socialise and take part in games and activities.

This pivotal work is helping to improve the groups quality of life by giving them social interactions they may have missed out on before. The efforts of the volunteers to provide engaging activities and opportunities to get out and about with trips and support is highly commendable.

If there is anything whoever may be reading this can spare I would implore them to please donate to such a noble cause.
