Manchester Marathon 2022 · 16 April 2023 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

In April 2021, my brother in law, Craig, sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer at the young age of 35. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2021 and just 6 short weeks later, he passed away. He left behind my sister, Casey and their 4 beautiful and amazing children; Violet, River, Autumn and Ronnie. Craig was an amazing partner to my sister and an amazing father to my nieces and nephew. His death has left a massive hole in so many lives, and this is happening to families every single day. Craig's cancer was extremely aggressive and took his life far too quickly. It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Therefore, I want to try and raise as much money as possible and spread as much awareness for pancreatic cancer. I will be running a marathon in April 2022; one year since Craig's death. Any donations to this cause that is very close to my family's heart, will be very much appreciated. Donations and more awareness will give me the motivation I need to complete this challenge. I will keep you all updated whilst I train for this event over the next few months. Thank you, Ebony x
