John and I have been invited to the London Landmarks Half Marathon as VIP guest runners as we are the oldest of 14,000 runners in this iconic race around the streets of Central London.    Before the race, we will meet celebrities and the media and then run in the first wave of runners following sedately behind the elite runners.  

We are taking this opportunity to run for Parkinson’s UK, a charity funding research into Parkinsons, which affects an increasing number of people as the population gets older.   John’s sister has lived with this cruel disease for 20 years and we continually hope for some relief of her symptoms.    

This year we are celebrating my 80th birthday and John’s 86th year.   We are running this Half Marathon and I hope to run the London Marathon in October, thankful that we are still able to enjoy running and walking.  We would be delighted if you can support us with our fund raising with any donations for Parkinson’s UK
