15 Hour Wattbike Challenge · 23 May 2020

The National Emergencies Trust (NET) is launching a fundraising appeal to help those most affected by the recent coronavirus outbreak.

Story

I am going to be cycling on a Wattbike for 15 hours, from 7am until 10pm on Saturday 4th July (I had to move the date back after falling off my bike!). I feel quite useless, watching all these key workers/NHS Staff etc doing their best for the country whilst I sit at my desk all day working.

I have chosen National Emergencies Trust - Coronavirus Appeal, as the money raised will be distributed fairly among those most affected my the Coronavirus outbreak. Its hard to choose one charity when so many people are affected! The funds raised will go to local charities and grassroots organisations that can provide vital support to people in the quickest way possible.

The world is in a state of emergency. The outbreak of coronavirus is affecting both businesses and people from across the globe. The Government is doing everything it can to alleviate some of this pressure. However, at times like this, its the strength and desire to help from the public that can make the most difference. We will work collaboratively with a wide range of organisations to ensure the maximum amount of money is raised and distributed securely, effectively, and fairly to those organisations and local charities who can do the most to help those in need.In time, we will report back on how the money raised was spent, and work collaboratively with others in the sector to share best practices and improve our nations emergency response over time. With your support, and help from our partners, well get through the impact caused by coronavirus, together.
