In Darel’s memory I will be undertaking a wing walk at a WW1 airfield on 10 July 2021, a week after what would have been his 40th birthday.

The wing walk will involve me climbing up to and then standing on the top of a 1930s or 1940s Boeing Stearman biplane (with a 450hp engine) which will take off and climb to 600 feet. I hope to experience an exciting series of flypasts, zoom climbs, steep dives and banks (BUT NOT LOOPs!). The propeller in front of me will reach speeds of 760mph. I will be wearing brown trousers!
