Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I should probably mention I have upped the target slightly, I originally set a fairly modest target, but that was smashed fairly quickly by you generous people. So feel free to donate but don't feel pressured to donate more to make sure I meet the target.
About mid September I was dumb enough to say "oh yea sure, I'll do that" when I was offered a free place on the Great South Run. My employer bought 100 places to raise awareness of hampshire fostercare, so I will be running in a bright pink and orange hampshire fostercare vest.
This was all a dumb idea as it was a last minute decision (possibly or possibly not while under the influence) to run twice as far as I have ever run before. I don't actually know if I can run this far, but I'm going to try! When I looked at the training plans they were all 12 weeks long and I only had 7 weeks. I thought as I'm doing this stupid challenge I might as well take the opportunity to try to raise money for a worthy cause.
I've been to a couple of events about what RedR do and found them really interesting and inspiring. They work in developing countries and try to ensure communities can survive disasters. You can find out more about them here: http://www.redr.org.uk/en/our-impact/what-we-do/
