This year I’m lacing up my shoes,

To chase the miles, to share the news.

In Bournemouth’s breeze, I’ll run this race,

With hope and love in every pace.

For Macmillan’s hands that gently hold,

The bravest stories, softly told.

They walk beside through darkest days,

With tireless hearts that light the way.

They gave their care, their strength, their cheer,

To my late father-in-law, so dear.

In those last days, they stood so bright,

Turning heavy moments into light.

Now four short days, the race begins,

A 10K path where hope still wins.

Each step I take, each breath, each mile,

Is for their kindness, their endless smile.
