Wembley Stadium challenge · 18 July 2020

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Katie (7), Karla (11), Verity Curtis and I are cycling to Wembley Stadium! The kids and I are cycling the equivalent distance from the DW Stadium to Wembley Stadium. That's a whopping 213 miles!! Verity is cycling on her exercise bike from the Shay Stadium in Halifax to Wembley. She's doing a massive 207 miles!!

We have until 3pm on Saturday 18th July to complete our milage. That's the time and date that the Rugby League Challenge Cup should have been played (and probably won by Wigan Warriors 😉).

I personally wanted to do some form of challenge this year in memory of Ellie, my beautiful daughter who was taken far too early from us. But coronavirus ruined my plans! Katie has just mastered riding her bike and she's been dragging me out cycling everyday so when I saw this challenge, I thought it would be perfect for us as a family. My fab friend Verity then offered to join us.

Any money we raise will go the fantastic Steve Prescott Foundation. Steve Prescott was an inspirational man (even if he did play for St Helen's!). He faced his cancer diagnosis with bravery and honour. The feats he achieved whilst undertaking cancer treatment were amazing. The Foundation supports a number of cancer and rugby league charities.

I appreciate times are tough at the moment for a lot of people. But, even a sponsorship of a quid will be gratefully appreciated.
