Ellie's Hair cutting

Hair cutting · 27 April 2019
Hi there everyone, as many of you know I have been growing my hair for a considerable amount of time now. On the 26thof April 2019, I will be cutting 17- 25cm (unsure of how ambitious I am just yet) from my hair and donating my hair to the “Little Princess Trust.” I am sure you are all confused as to why I am not donating any money I raise to this charity. The reason behind this is I want to give back to two charities which can make a big difference to my family and my family friends. I am not the type of person who is ever going to be physically fit enough to do something such as a run for charity so this is my personal way of giving back. My choice of these two amazing charities is very personal to me and plays a big part in my heart and life. Many of you are aware of how poorly my mum is and has been in the past due to her disability and various comorbidities but still never ever stops to helping others. Unfortunately, she lost one of her best friends to cancer very recently, this being the main reasons for donating my hair as this family friend always commented positively on my hair and by donating my hair is giving it someone else who needs it more than me. My Hair donation will be in the memory of Lorraine Feilden, another kind, brave and selfless woman.
The reason behind me choosing “Sarcoidosis Uk” as the charity to donate money too is due to my mum recently this exact diagnosis of Sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is an extremely rare condition that affects the lymphatic system. Sarcoidosis is a life-limiting condition with no current cure. It is usually treated through steroids, however, this treatment being unlikely for my mum as it could cause her to have more heart attacks, of which she has had her fair share of. I wanted to raise money to donate to this charity to help find a cure and for my inspiring and amazing mum. She has been through so much from such a young age, is always helping others but constantly being hit with bad luck. I feel as though its time she got a bit of good luck. She is the most inspiring, brave and selfless person I know always putting her family and friends first before her own needs. I want this money to go to people like my mum who deserve some good luck in their life and can live it as fully as possible. I want my hair to go to someone who can enjoy it as much as I have, who will appreciate it, as it’s the small things which we all take for granted. People often forget one small thing can make a massive difference for someone else. Thank you, very much for taking the time to read this, any donations I would be extremely grateful. Lots of Love Ellie x
P.s I will post a video and photos via facebook of me cutting my hair as proof, it may not look like a drastic change when it is cut but please remember I have a ridiculous amount of hair. I also asked permission off both my mum and her friends family to share this information to which they said was ok to do so. xx
