Across 2017 Jim and I have decided to raise money for two very special charities; Children's Acute Transport Service, and the Sick Children's Trust (please split all donations evenly between our two pages). These charities are very close to our hearts after our dear little Iris was taken ill in November 2016 and we needed their help. Had it not been for some very special NHS staff and these charities, Iris was not have made it. 

On November 26th 2016, Iris was rushed to the Royal London hospital from Peterborough as a result of apnoea caused by bronchiolitis. It was the worst day of our lives seeing her on a ventilator and requiring help to breathe. It also meant that our family was to be split up as her twin sister Thea couldn't go with her.

The Children's Acute Transport Service (CATS) provide paediatric intensive care on the move. They are an absolutely amazing team, providing the highest level of care for babies and children. We can not thank them enough for transporting Iris safely to London (and back again), treating her with love, care, and dignity, and for providing support to Jim during this time.

CATS allow parents to travel with their child meaning that Jim could stay with Iris. This meant so much to us not only meaning that Iris had someone she knew close by but also meant that there was no delay in Jim getting to her. It took an element of stress away in what was an awful situation. They also provided Jim with some essentials to make him more comfortable on the journey to London. These were most welcome given that our time in A and E had been long and stressful.

Raising money for CATS is our way to give back and say thank you to them.
