Across 2017 Jim and I have decided to raise money for two very special charities; Children's Acute Transport Service, and the Sick Children's Trust (please split donations evenly between our two fundraising pages). These charities are very close to our hearts after our dear little Iris was taken ill in November 2016 and we needed their help. Had it not been for some very special NHS staff and these charities, Iris would not have made it. 

On November 26th 2016, Iris was rushed to the Royal London hospital from Peterborough as a result of apnoea caused by bronchiolitis. It was the worst day of our lives seeing her on a ventilator and requiring help to breathe. It also meant that our family was to be split up as her twin sister Thea couldn't go with her.

The Sick Children's trust provide a home from home for families of critically ill children so that they can remain close by to hospitals. They also provide emotional and practical support to families.

The Sick Children's Trust provided Jim with somewhere to stay close to the Royal London hospital whilst Iris was there. This was so much appreciated and took the stress and expense of having to find somewhere to stay. It also meant that Jim could be really close to Iris and visit whenever he wanted. In an already stressful situation this was so much appreciated.

Raising money for the Sick Children's Trust is our way to give back and say thank you to them.
