Elliot contracted Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in March 2020. His condition required immediate aggressive chemotherapy. As he neared the end of his course of treatment Elliot contracted acute pancreatitis, which can be a side affect of the chemo drugs in 10% of people. Elliot battled hard as he experienced terrible pain and associated symptoms that took him to the edge of life. During this time he always remained dignified and positive in the belief that "Tomorrow would be a better day". After many months in hospital Elliot was discharged, but sadly the damage done by the pancreatitis remained and Elliot spent many months in pain. During his time in hospital the Leukaemia had remained in partial remission, but it was no time at all before the cancer returned and his white, blast cell count was rising. The consultants tried a mild dose of chemotherapy, but this aggravated the pancreas. Unfortunately there was no more forms of treatment available and so we had to watch helplessly as his condition slowly became worse. After almost a year of pain Elliot died on the 25 February 2021, aged 20 years. He will be greatly missed.
