Story

Elsie, was a beautiful little girl, full of love, life and kindness.

Shockingly, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour (diffuse pontine glioma) in June 2011, shortly after her 6th birthday. There is no cure for this condition. Elsie responded well to radiotherapy which gave her a new lease of life for the next 6 months. However, her tumour began to grow and spread at the beginning of 2012 and she sadly passed away on 21 March 2012.

We feel very fortunate that Elsie was treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital. They have a dedicated children's unit which is based in Sutton and to which we became very regular visitors. We thank them for everything they have done for Elsie from the bottom of our hearts. All of the staff at the Marsden are outstanding and handle very difficult situations with great skill and compassion. From the moment Elsie began her treatment there we knew that she was in good hands. Now that Elsie has passed away, the Marsden will continue to support us as a family and we know we are in good hands.

We would like you to help the Royal Marsden to continue to provide the same exceptional service to others who suffer from cancer and your donations will make this possible.
