Story
As many of you know, we can frequently be spotted running around the island of Guernsey whilst training for a range of events. This year we are running the Guernsey marathon to raise money for CLIC Sargent, a charity that supports children and young people with cancer. We have set ourselves the challenge of running the marathon dressed as Batman and Wonder Woman. Please note that this could prove more of a challenge for me than for costume-loving “Batdan”!
My aunty, Elaine, was god mother to Marcus, whom we met when he was well and looking forward to going to university. Sadly, Marcus was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma and after an 18 month battle, we were saddened to hear that he had lost his fight against the disease.
CLIC Sargent provided fantastic support to Marcus, his mum, Kari and family whilst they spent a significant amount of their time away from home during Marcus’s treatment. Marcus loved super heroes
and Comic-Con events, hence we will be running in Wonder Woman and Batman outfits to raise money in his memory.
Any donations are greatly appreciated to support CLIC Sargent with their work in supporting children and young people with cancer and their families.
