Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you may know already, my sister died of cancer in May 2018.  She was in Sobell House for nearly 7 weeks and had already received help from the lovely staff there prior to going in.

The whole team at Sobell House were fantastic - thoughtful and caring, and always treating Sophie with dignity and respect.   

They allowed us the time and space to try to take in what was happening.  They even encouraged my brother-in-law to have a pizza evening in the garden so that Sophie could properly meet the carer who was going to help look after her disabled son and my other nephews.  It was an important moment for the whole family.

I had wanted to do the Oxford Half last year, as a 50th birthday challenge to myself, but I was injured.  Since then, I did my first half marathon in London at the end of August in preparation for this event.   I was pretty pleased with my time - 2 hours and 15 minutes - but I am hoping that I can improve on that slightly with this, my second half marathon.  Wish me luck!
