I'm super excited to announce that I've been selected to volunteer aboard with Restless Development as part of ICS.

My placement is 3 months long and will be in Zambia, Africa, which I'm very pleased with. I will be staying with locals for the entire time and will be at the heart of the charity work ran by Restless Development. This work will include raising awareness about the prevention and care of HIV/ AIDS, as unfortunately, it's extremely prevalent through the country. I will also be involved in supporting life skills training workshops and any other work that needs doing in the local communities.

The first part of my placement is the challenge of raising £800 towards the work of Restless Development and their ICS partners. The money will go directly to the charity and will help fund the overall costs of the projects. In order to go on this placement, the target of £800 must be completed before Feb 2017, so any donations are greatly appreciated as it's not long now! 

As part of my fundraising, I am currently in the process of doing some charity a bit closer to home, including volunteering with people in the local community with mental health issues, as this is an issue I feel very passionate about. I also plan to organise volunteering in local care homes, all in an attempt to start charity at home. Any updates and other fundraising activities will all be posted on this page and on my Facebook.
