Emily's Head Shaving

This is part of a bigger event that my university society is doing to
raise money for PCRF. On the 11th of February, 8pm in Pendle Bar of Lancaster University, we'll be holding a charity concert where there'll be a bake sale and a raffle and in the interval I shall be shaving my head.
Pancreatic Cancer is the 11th most common cancer yet it has the worst survival rate of them all. Every year, approximately 8,800 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and, every year, almost the same number die of it.
At the minute, surgery is the only form of treatment that has a real chance of curing someone with pancreatic cancer but, because of the nature of this cancer, by the time a person is diagnosed, it is often too late and surgery is only possible in 10% of cases.
I am raising money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund because I want us to find a way of really beating pancreatic cancer for more people and also to raise awareness in the hopes that more people will be diagnosed sooner to give them a better chance at survival.
