Lakeland 50 & 100 2019 · 26 July 2019 to 28 July 2019 ·
Myself, claire, alex and Joanne set upon this Lakeland challenge after being marshals on the Lakeland 100 in July 2018. We never imagined we would be taking part in the Lakeland 50 challenge 12months later. The challenge has seemed impossible at times but we have stuck with it despite not training as much as we would of liked due to life and all its unpredictable hurdles. As many people know we love a nice long countryside pootle (slow run) where we eat and take lots of selfies. We love this kind of running/jogging. It makes you appreciate the little things in life. Although we are extremely nervous we are equally excited to be taking part in the Lakeland 50.
We are fundraising for the brain tumours charity following the heartbreaking diagnosis for Laura Nuttall. Laura was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme in Oct 2018 after a brain scan showed 6 brain tumours. Laura was in her first term at kings college after achieving straight A’s at A level. Laura is now determined to achieve her bucket list through #doingitforlaura and she campaigns to raise awareness of the brain tumour charity.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally.
