Story

Losing my wonderful Dad to a brain tumour at the age of 64 was not what any of us expected and has easily been the hardest experience of my life to date. We were told by numerous healthcare professionals how Dad was ‘very fit and healthy… except for the brain tumour’ which just goes to show that you can never assume you’re safe from things like this. The treatment Dad received was fantastic throughout, but unfortunately there remains no cure for Glioblastomas, meaning from the off the brain surgery and radiotherapy he had to endure was only aimed at prolonging his life, not saving it. Dad was incredibly brave throughout, with his final wish being to donate his brain to research to help find a cure for others. Unfortunately COVID prevented this from being an option. As a family we want to do as much as we can to carry on Dads wish and prevent others finding themselves in the same miserable situation - as a start, we will be walking 25KM through London on September 11th 2021 and would be so grateful for any money you can donate to this cause as sponsorship!
