Story
From October 5th-11th I am participating in the 4Deserts "Atacama Crossing"- a 250km (155 miles/ 6 marathons) foot race across the driest place on the planet. This event will see me running (crawling) over some of the Chilean desert's most challenging salt flats, sand dunes, hills and valleys… in 40+ degree heat, at altitude, and carrying all my supplies for the week on my back. Not to mention sharing a tent with nine other crazies who don't get to shower for the week!
Many of you know the charity closest to my heart is the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, after the loss of my cousin's beautiful daughter Emma Kingston to this cruel disease last year at just 20 years old. She would have given anything to complete just one day of this feat... I am grateful every day for a pair of lungs and a body that allows me to try. The CF Trust funds support for sufferers and research into a cure, in the hope that one day other families won't have to lose their brightest stars so young.
I appreciate that many of you kind and generous folk have donated to my cause before, and may prefer to spread your charity love around. I will be sending details of the other ways you can support nearer the time. However, even if we get just one more donation, it will be worthwhile.
Thanks so much for reading
