Story
I’m running the London landmarks half marathon in memory of my beautiful and amazing mum, Niki.
In 2005 mum lost her courageous battle with cancer when she was only in her early fifties. NikNak never had the chance to meet her beautiful grandchildren, my boys and Oli’s twin girls. Her life was cut way too short as she had so much more to give. Mum was always so upbeat and positive and despite her illness she was always so determined; a characteristic she’s passed onto her children!
I’m so proud to be running this race - as Macmillan provided incredible support to NikNak and the whole family during this difficult time. London is also such a special place and I loved it when mum used to come and stay with me in my flat - we used to have so much fun! She was literally like my big sis!
Please donate to my page so that I can reach my target and help others benefit from this wonderful charity.
There is not a day the goes by when I don’t think of my amazing mummy. I miss her so much but she motivates me in every way as all I want to do is make her proud.
As I’m pounding the streets of London I will also be thinking of many others who lost their lives to this cruel disease, including my grandma and auntie Angela, Elaine, Jo , Sean and more recently Sav and Doug.
Thank you for reading my story. Please donate what you can...
Now, let the training begin!
