“Emily is not one for rapid or enthusiastic movement” - the immortal words written by my first school head teacher in my year 3 report that have haunted me well into my adult life. Well look out, Mrs Embury, i’m about to move incredibly rapidly and enthusiastically for a whole 20km!

Dad was diagnosed with with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) in June 2018. He went through all the treatment - intensive chemo, clinical trials and eventually a bone marrow transplant in the October. It was a rollercoaster that none of us wanted to be on but Dad powered through it like a hero. 

He received amazing care throughout his treatment and we are so grateful as a family to organisations like Cure Leukaemia, for all the work they do it trying to prolong and save the lives of those with this horrible disease. 

Despite the Drs best efforts, the Leukaemia returned in February and our brilliant Dad (and husband to our Mum) died in March this year.  💙
