Story
Emma’s family have requested a donation to the RSPCA instead of flowers at the funeral.
This is a note from Amy, Emma’s sister.
Emma was an intelligent and caring person. If she was not on her PlayStation you would find her with Toby. When Emma was only 15 years old she battled with osteosarcoma having to have major surgery and having to learn to walk again. This took a toll on her mental health. Emma had been in remission for over 4 years, and began to restart living her life. Emma loved toby with all her heart, she began walking toby over the local park, making friends with the local dog walkers, gaining her confidence without crutches and coming out of her shell. Emma also had just finished her first year of university, hoping to become a primary school teacher. Unfortunately emma took a turn for the worse when she found out she was diagnosed with leukaemia, within 3 weeks of diagnosis she sadly passed away. Emma also was suffering with fluid around her heart and lungs, meaning her last weeks on earth were restricted within the hospital . Before Emma died she had photos of Toby around her hospital bed and constantly asking how Toby was. considering that her life had just been turned upside down with the thought of going through chemotherapy again, loosing her hair and going to be needing countless blood transfusions, her thoughts were of Toby. Emma’s love for toby was so immense she discharged herself from the hospital, just so she could see toby. little did she know that was the last time she would ever lay eyes on him. Toby idealised Emma and continues to wait for her although she will never return .Emma loved all animals, spending hours at the park and taking multiple photos with them. Emma would have wanted some good to come out of this horrible situation by donating to the RSPCA to allow dogs to have a new lease of life. Emma will be missed terribly. She had so much life left in her, she was so young, she passed so soon and nobody can believe that she’s gone . Emma was much loved by all the community and her memories won’t be forgotten.
Thank you
