Last year food banks in our network had to distribute 1.3 million 3 day emergency food supplies to people in crisis across the UK. As a country we expect our social security system to provide a safety net when we need it. But for millions of people across the UK it isn’t - instead it is forcing them further into poverty and that isn’t right. 

I will be attempting to ride 126 miles to raise much needed funds to help my organisation and the foodbanks we support continue to fight to change things for the better. To continue to fight to end the need for food banks in our country. 

I’ve included a picture of my old bike with a basket (which I love pootling about on) to demonstrate the level of training I am having to do just now to have a hope to managing the full 126 miles.  I now have a new bike that is up to the challenge and am working hard to get me up to the challenge too!!
