Story
I'm taking part in the 60 Miles in June challenge in aid of the National Autistic Society.
My son now 14 was diagnosed asd 7 nearly 8 years ago and then 18 months later adhd. He is now flourishing in high school after a challenging time through primary having meltdowns and having other children pushing his buttons on purpose so he’d explode. His school and teachers were great and was a teacher who brought possibility of adhd to our attention too. With medication and lots of support he has a great group of friends which he’d struggled with in primary school and support of his high school who is also very asd friendly and gets all children with a diagnosis together 1 period a week.
The National Autistic Society are there to help the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families - be it running specialist schools, campaigning for improved rights or training companies on being more autism-friendly, they are dedicated to transforming lives and changing attitudes. Your donations towards my efforts are greatly appreciated and not only that, but they will also be a huge help in creating a society that works for all autistic people and their families, thank you! 💜
