Hi everyone, Claire, Rosie & Jess all met each other through our local Hertfordshire Endometriosis UK support group (organised by Rosie) & have since become good friends. They are all daunted by the task of such a long walk but also exited by the possibility that they CAN do it, here's why...
Claire: 'Hi everyone. As many of you know I have been diagnosed with endometriosis for 2 years now, but have been living with the really awful symptoms for 15 years. The disease has had a massive impact on every part of my life. I cannot imagine how I would have got through the last two years without the support of Endometriosis UK- they have made a huge difference to my life. It would mean so much if you could donate to support this fantastic charity and to encourage us on our epic walk! Thank you! x'
Rosie: 'Hi everyone, Please take a few minutes to read this page and spare a few pounds to sponsor me, Claire and Jessica on our walk across London. We are doing this not just for the money – although Endometriosis UK really needs fundraising to help it continue with the great work that it does – but also to raise awareness. As a result we will be walking in pink pants and maybe even a tutu! If that doesn’t get people asking what we’re doing then what will?!Please take a look at the Endometriosis UK website to find out more about this disease. If you do that I hope you will agree that this disease needs so much more awareness and research. It has changed my life significantly over the years. It will mean a lot to know that I have your support and your sponsorship might just make the difference to women in the future. It will also help encourage me to make it through the 23 miles, which won’t be easy! Thank you.'
Jess: 'After a sudden diagnosis nearly 4 years ago, my life changed dramatically. I left hospital with little understanding of what Endometriosis meant & how it would affect me but soon found the charity 'Endometriosis UK', finally I understood what all of my previous years of symptoms meant and was lucky to find a great support network in my area. I had to adjust all expectations of myself and my future to fit into what my body would allow. After surgery this year with a specialist consultant, I am pleased to finally be able to challenge myself physically again and give something back to the charity that stepped in where our health service was lacking! Please help me by raising awareness and greatly lacking funds to help them continue the good work!'
