Story
In early 2009, My Auntie, Stephanie Darling passed away from a rare form of sarcoma (bone cancer). Alongside my family, over the last 13 years we have raised over £100,000 for Sarcoma UK.
From a young age, I have watched the marathon from the Sarcoma stand at the London Marathon along side my family. I have always wanted to be involved and I knew that as a keen runner, I wanted to complete it myself in Auntie Stephs memory. So, I decided that the minute I was old enough I would sign up, so here I am! At the time of the event I will have been 18 for just a week, this means a lot to me and what I have aimed to achieve. I hope that with lots of support, I can meet my fundraising target (and the run itself!) for Auntie Steph, and for everyone who has to fight her same battle.
Since October 2021 when I applied, I have committed to consistent training to working towards the ultimate 26.2 miles. On March 6th 2022 I am taking part in the Chelmsford Half Marathon, as well as hoping to complete more fundraisers over the next 6 months.
So please, if you can, I would be so grateful for any contribution you can give!
Thank you!
Erin :)
