My name is Erin and I was diagnoised with type 1 diabetes just over three years ago at the ripe old age of  24. To say it was a shock is an understatment.

At first I didn't fully understand the impact it was going to make on my life or just how serious it was. It wasn't till a good 5-6 months down the line that I realised just how serious being diabetic was and that it was for life.

I made a lot of changes to my lifestyle and I struggled.

I stopped doing alot of things things I loved as I feared i would hypo or go high. I felt it was affecting every aspect of my life, work, relationship, socia and i hated it.

I dont think I would have got through a lot of it withou the help and support from mypartner, friends, family, co-workers and Diabetes UK.

I have challenged myself to walk the West Highland Way to rais money for them so they can continue offering support and hopefully, one day, find a cure.

Even a fiver will go a long way to help.
