I have been selected for an amazing opportunity, to represent the UK in the Maldives, on an overseas project this Summer!

GOLD stands for Guiding Overseas Linked with Development and has been running for almost 25 years now, visiting over 30 countries. Each project is specific to the country and is an amazing opportunity for the participant personally and also to make a real difference.

The main aims of my project are to help develop leadership skills of those involved in Guiding and hopefully enable more young women to become Guide leaders - which they are in short supply of! We are also hoping to help them create some positive PR, through training sessions and weekend camps. We will be visiting three of the islands, and spending a week on each island, to work with the girls and leaders of all ages.
