Story
Our daughter Evie was born on 6th April 2015 in extremely poor condition having suffered hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (acute oxygen deprivation in the brain) during the delivery. We spent several days in the neo-natal ICU at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith, not knowing what the future held for Evie.
Thanks to the care of the medical teams and pioneering treatment at Queen Charlotte’s, she made a rapid recovery and a good long-term outcome is likely. We will be forever grateful to the Winnicott Foundation for the work it does in raising money to care for sick babies and provide support for the parents. As a token of our gratitude we decided to organise a charity cricket day on the weekend of Evie's christening (30th Aug 2015). The support has been overwhelming and hopefully we can raise more funds in the future.
