"Field of Dreams" Road Race · 22 August 2010

People who are deafblind have substantial visual and hearing loss which causes extreme difficulty with communication, information and mobility. We aim to raise aspirations and expand the lives of Deafblind people, some of the least visible and most isolated members of society.

Story

Fionas father, a prince amongst men, is a charming, fun, active man who is fit beyond his years. He lives life to the full, goes to the gym, walks his dog and enjoys days out up hills, at museums and wandering through caves. He is registered Deaf Blind.

So when we received his email about the Field of Dreams Road Race we both reached for our running shoes.  For so many reasons we feel we need to lend my support, even though running is something neither of us do and training is set to be sheer purgatory. The thought of being able to lend some sort of support through the funds we raise and critically the awareness we create will spur us both on, even if we are swearing under our breath.
Training and race posts will be on my blog - http://walkingwithfatty.blogspot.com/
