Staff at Fuel Card Services are taking part in an indoor cycle ride to help raise funds for the families affected by the Manchester terrorist attack.
The team will be riding the equivalent of the distance from Dublin – home of our parent company DCC’s head office – to the Manchester Arena, the site of the bombing that claimed the lives of 22 people, many of them children.
Fuel Card Services’ Burnley and Leeds offices will also be attempting the 638 km round trip once each, and our smaller offices in Oxford, Kent and Motherwell are joining forces to cycle the same distance between them.
As well as getting on our bikes, staff will also be taking part in other fundraising activities, such as dress down days.
All money raised will go towards wider fundraising efforts to help the families of the victims of the attack on May 22nd, when Salman Abedi detonated an explosive device at one of the arena’s exits after a concert by pop singer Ariana Grande. It was the deadliest terrorist attack in the UK since the 2005 London bombings.
Ariana Grande will return to the city this weekend to headline a fundraising concert at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground. She’s being joined by some of the biggest names in pop – including Take That and Justin Bieber – and attendees of the May 22nd concert have been promised free tickets.
