Faye's Shave my Head

Shave my Head · 24 March 2018
2 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 20 weeks pregnant. I had chemotherapy whilst pregnant and after. Then further surgery, a double mastectomy and reconstruction followed by radiotherapy. I carried on having herceptin until Sep 17, more reconstruction surgery and had my ovaries removed in Jan 18. Having had a complete pathological response to the chemo I thought I was over the worst.
Unfortunately 3 weeks ago, 2 days after my 39th birthday, a CT scan showed multiple lesions in my brain. Some of the buggers had escaped into my head. I have 9 tumours which are hopefully being shrunk by whole brain radiotherapy. I will lose my hair from this so I am going to shave it off and would really appreciate your support.
I will be having ongoing chemo afterwards, using the wonder drug Kadcyla which I hope will get through to my brain and kill the remaining cancer cells. My cancer is now incurable but I hope treatable. There are other drugs that Cancer Research is working on especially for HER2+ breast cancer which is what I have. These drugs are magic. But each drug will stop working in the end, so they need to keep finding more to combat those cancer cells. Your money is so important in finding the magic that will keep me alive ... hopefully!!
