We support & help people to excel after amputation

"When I found the charity I was struggling with depression. I had considered suicide. I can confidently say Finding Your Feet saved my life." Simon, below-knee amputee

We have now been supporting amputees of all ages, including some of the most vulnerable in society, for 6 years. Because of the recent implications on business and events caused by the coronavirus, we are struggling. For the first time ever, there is a chance that Finding Your Feet may not be around to provide what we have discovered is an essential service.

These are unchartered territories for us all. What we do know is that the NHS, who we work extremely closely with, is under severe strain. Our services are designed to be the bridge between hospital and public life for amputees, meaning we can reduce this pressure on the NHS. We also know that 30% of vascular amputees die within a year post-amputation and isolation is a huge factor in this. For years we have been bringing those who suffer limb-loss out of isolation and into a community in which they can thrive. We know that physical health is vital for groups of amputees and hard to achieve. Our swimming, gym, cycling, Pilates and Yoga classes sort this. We know that mental health, especially today, is a constant battle for the people we support. We have an in-house Counsellor and various services to help this. We know we matter. And we know that we need your help to survive.

Finally, we know that this is a tough time for everyone. We're simply asking that if you or your business can afford to give to help change, and even save, the lives of amputees, please do.
