Cure Leukaemia has committed to raise an ADDITIONAL £1m to fully fund the expansion of the globally significant Centre for Clinical Haematology in Birmingham by 31.12.2017 and YOU can play your part.

Story

1 year ago I was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia).

Rather than sit down and do nothing about it I have decided to set myself a positive goal of doing the Velo Birmingham 100 mile bike ride and raise money for the brilliant Cure Leukaemia Charity (as I will most probably be needing them quite a lot over my life from now on).

I will have my trusty sidekick Finn to push me along and ensure I get round in one piece and in a decent time !

Cure Leukaemia (CL) helps to save lives now and hasten global progress towards eradicating blood cancer within the next 30 years. CL supports the internationally significant Centre for Clinical Haematology in Birmingham and a network of specialist research nurses across the UK who administer often world first and potentially life-saving clinical trials to leukaemia patients who have exhausted standard treatments. In 2017, Cure Leukaemia is committed to raising an additional £1m to double the Centre's capacity for patients, trials and nurses.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 30m, access to potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials, with plans to fund a paediatric network on the way.
