London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

On Sunday October 2nd, 2022 I'll be taking part in my first London marathon. For many years now I have watched the London marathon on the TV and always dreamt of actually being able to participate. In October 2019, I was lucky enough to secure a place through the ballot, however due to COVID-19 my place got pushed back to April 2022.

Prostate Cancer Research Centre is the charity I have chosen to run for. It's an amazing charity and the research they do is helping to increase the survival rates for those suffering. Having sadly lost my grandad to the illness, I have also seen how advances in treatments and earlier diagnosis have helped my dad fight the illness in 2018 and come out the other side with a positive prognosis.

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated and will help to keep me motivated along the 26.2 mile course!

Thank you
