Wimbledon BookFest is over for another year and before things really kick in again with planning for 2017  I'm undertaking a challenge supporting one of our key partner charities, Beanstalk, with my daughter Lillie.  We're joining them on a trek in Nepal to raise money and awareness for their reading programme in UK schools. 

The trip in the Helambu region leaves on 10 November and we will be walking 7-8 hours a day, including climbs and descents and camping every night.  We'll finish up at a school and help them build their library following the devastation of last year's earthquake. I'm feeling a little bit anxious as I should have been training more but am really keen to see this through.  

Beanstalk are a wonderful charity, They supply reading volunteers into schools for children who need one to one support. Wimbledon BookFest have worked with them for 3 years now. I rate them highly - this sort of organisation often gets overlooked against higher profile charities but they really change and impact on the lives of young people.
