I did it in 2008 (1 hr 13 mins 59 seconds), 2009 (1hr 21mins 27seconds) and now I've done it in 2010 (the date is wrong - I did it today - 31st May 2010).  Weather was good, great atmosphere and I got to see Iwan Thomas in the flesh (yum!!!).  Was even slower - waiting on my time, but did well with no training - aching already and will suffer in the morning. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to decide to join the gym only 3 days before the run ;-)

Please dig deep and sponsor me online.   The reason why I'm doing this is my Mum.  We went to when she was diagnosed in 2003 and suffering terribly from the effects of chemotherapy.  It changed everything - I got my Mum back, she was able to have some control over her life and her illness.

She is in remission and her consultant is constantly amazed at her continued good heath.  I can't thank enough for what they gave my Mum and this is my way of thanking them and hopefully enabling other people who are travelling the distressing road of cancer diagnosis to find strength and determination. 

Mum and I visited Penny Brohn Cancer Care's new site last summer and we were so impressed - such a dramatic change from the site we visited when Mum was so very sick.  I know this is the most amazing place for those who have been diagnosed with cancer and just wish that more people were aware of its existence. 

Without our visit back in 2003 I really don't think Mum would be here today and she wouldn't not have had the chance to meet her beloved grandson, Frankie, born in 2009.
