I started volunteering for the Blue Cross last year, as a pet bereavement support officer.  The work they do at the Blue Cross, not just with the bereavement service, is critical for animals and owners in this country.

I received a lovely email recently from a pet owner I have been supporting for a little while, and they said they didn't know how they would have coped with the loss of their dog if it hadn't been for the support I gave them. That's when I knew the work I was doing was making a difference.

So, to enable more people to be supported by the Blue Cross I've decided to don my trainers and tackle a half marathon.  It also happens to be my 60th birthday that weekend, do what better way to celebrate but to do something crazy. The furthest I've run is 10km,  so there will be lots of training.

If you feel able to donate, I would really appreciate it, if not, perhaps you could share this link xx
