Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Just a quick update to say a really massive thank you to everyone that sponsored me. We had a fantastic day out cycling and raised well over £750 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust in the process.
In November 2009 a friend of ours 12 year old son Henry was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma above the knee, it was then confirmed that it had jumped to his knee, hip and lungs. Osteosarcoma is a bone cancer that is most common between the ages of 10 and 25.
Surgeons have removed the bone from his hip to mid shin and replaced it with a titanium leg with inbuilt motor for growth!! Sounds very complicated and not very pleasant doesn't it? Henry is having lots of chemo too and will then have to have further surgery on his lungs.
So I have entered the Northern Rock Cyclone Challenge on Saturday 12th June and will be raising money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust (http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk). I have entered the 63 mile route and really hope that you will sponsor me so that I have a real added incentive to get round.
