Story
On Sunday 22nd May, I'll be running the Hackney Half Marathon to raise money for Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest (Mind CHWF)!
Supporting mental health is something hugely important to me and I will always be driven to raise awareness - whether that's through raising money for charities, sharing useful resources online or encouraging open conversation. It's important to remember whatever gesture you make (big or small) will help someone (or yourself!) in some way.
I've linked my JustGiving page to my Strava account - so you'll be able to keep track of my training and I'll be sharing photos and updates as I go (starting in Lisbon where I'm currently living)! I'll also be sharing updates on the work Mind CHWF does & the importance of their work as I go. Here's an example:
Since the start of the pandemic, around one third of adults and young people have said their mental health has got much worse. The trauma that people have experienced over the last two years means there has been an increase in the demand on mental health services.
Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest offer a range of support to members of the community who are struggling daily with their mental health and need funding more than ever before to respond to the increase in demand.
£25 could pay for a low-income client with serious enduring mental health issues to attend a Managing Anger and Difficult Emotions group.
Any donation is hugely appreciated by both myself and Mind CHWF.
Lots of love, Flick x
