WE'VE DONE IT!

On Wednesday 30th June, Team Forex completed a Channel Crossing, swimming a total of 43 miles in 15 hours 47 minutes. In the face of horrendous seasickness and some fairly unfavourable wind and current conditions, grim determination kept each swimmer donning their togs and jumping off the back of a boat time and time again.  

Thanks to Neil and Laura, who kept us on the straight and narrow throughout the day.

A Brit, a Zimbo, 2 Aussies and a Frenchman make up the Foreign Exchange Channel-Swimming Team.

In the first week of July, we will take on the 'Everest' of swims: the English Channel.

21.6 miles in contrary currents, risking life and limb in the shipping channels of La Manche, we'll brave freezing temperatures and murky depths to raise money for the VSO.

About our charity:

Voluntary Service Overseas is an international develpment charity that works through experienced volunteers living and working as equals alongside local partners.  The largest independent volunteer-sending organisation in the world, it works to fight poverty in developing countries through education and training.

VSO tackles poverty by using the skills, commitment and enthusiasm of individuals from around the world.  For 50 years, they have been recruiting volunteers aged between 18 and 75 to live and work in the heart of local communities.
