Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Motor Neurone Disease is a very cruel and horrific condition to witness the suffering of.  None of us can imagine the loss of control, dignity, and increasing pain and fear for those suffering the condition and knowing what it is store for them. Once contracted, it is a death sentence, there is no known cause, no cure, and no return. Funds are greatly needed to try and beat this disease and the only way of combating it is through research and raising awareness, besides aid for much needed equipment to assist with the care. With the exception of a few,
(e.g. Stephen Hawking), once contracted the remainder of life is extremely short with rapidly punishing symptoms.
On 11th September 2016 mother and sons Frances, William and Daniel Barratt will be entering the Great North Run (Half Marathon) in a bid to honour
a promise, of raising funds and awareness, to a brother/uncle Leslie Andrews whose 40 year life was so cruelly stolen by this punishing disease. If you are able to assist us with our fundraising for this worthy cause, we would very much appreciate your donation. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for visiting our page.
